Manhunt International es un concurso de belleza masculino internacional que comenzó en 1993, aunque las raíces del certamen se remonta unos años más para cuando una preliminar nacional se llevó a cabo en Singapur. El certamen se celebra por Metromedia Singapur y Procon Leisure International.

El concurso Manhunt comenzó en 1987, cuando Alex Liu, director de Exclusive Resources Marketing Pte Ltd, decidió llevar a cabo el primer concurso de modelos masculino en Singapur, ya que había numerosos concursos para las mujeres y ninguno para los hombres. En consecuencia planeó y diseñó el primer concurso Manhunt en Singapur.

Manhunt se convirtió en Manhunt International en 1993. Se celebró por primera vez en Gold Coast, Australia en 1993, cuando el alemán Thomas Sasse se llevó el primer título Manhunt International entre 25 concursantes. En 1994, el certamen permaneció en Gold Coast cuando Nikos Papadakis de Grecia ganó. El evento Manhunt Internacional era entonces una sociedad conjunta con un socio australiano, Procon Leisure International Pty Ltd, encabezada por Rosko Dickinson.

Mister International

Mister Internationalis an annual male beauty pageant founded in 2006. It is owned and organized by the Mister International Organization which also organizes the annual Mister Singaporepageant.^[1] Along with the Mister World and Manhunt International contests, Mister International is one of the three largest male beauty pageants in the world in terms of the number of national-level competitions, and one of the most anticipated male beauty pageants worldwide.^{[2][not in citation given]} Since the first edition, 72 countries have sent their representative to this pageant, with an annual average of 31 contestants.^[3]

The current Mister International is Neil Perez of the Philippines who was crowned on February 14, 2015 in Ansan, Korea.^[4][5][6] Traditionally, Mister International lives in Singapore during his reign.

History

The first Mister International Pageant was held in Singapore in 2006. It was won by Wissam Hanna from Lebanon, who has gone on to become a TV personality in his native Beirut. Since its debut, the pageant gained popularity, and since then have been held from exotic locations around the globe evolving into a premier international male beauty pageant.

The "Mister International Organization" is based in Singapore and it is owned by the current president, Alan Sim.

Competition formats

Contestants are judged in three areas of preliminary competition: swimwear, evening wear and interview.

During the early years of the pageant, the ten contestants who made the first cut were judged in swimwear and evening wear. After that, the field was narrowed down to a final five for a final question.

From 2010, the number of semifinalists was increased to fifteen for the swimwear competition, with cuts made to ten for the evening wear competition, and then to five. The five who passed that stage competed in a final question, after which the runners-up and winner were announced.

In 2011, for the first time, one of the sixteen semifinalists was selected exclusively by fans via online voting.^{[7][not in citation given]}This happened also in 2012 and 2013.^{[8][not in citation given]} In 2013, one of the ten finalists was chosen by the Mister International Organization to advance to the Top Five.

Míster Mundoes un concurso mundial de bellezamasculina, que se realiza desde 1996. Míster Mundo es el certamen masculino más popular del mundo, en donde participan numerosos países y territorios autónomos. También se conoce así al certamen que lo confiere, juzgando la belleza integral, elegancia, proactividad, personalidad, estatura, seguridad, conciencia social y saludfísica de los candidatos participantes.

Se dice que el ganador es «el hombre más bello del mundo». Cada concursante representa únicamente a su nación de origen y el ganador del título lo lleva por un periodo de alrededor de dos o tres.

Mister Global, is an annual male beauty pageant founded in 2014. Since the first edition, 21 countries have sent their representative to this contest. The first edition of the Mister Global pageant, was held at Pak Chong, Thailand on March 27, 2014. At the end of the event Myat Thuya Lwin from Myanmar was crowned as Mister Global 2014.
